https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2497

The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process on the topics of Hajj, Zakat, and Waqf in grade X at SMA PU Al-Bayan Cendekia Cianjur faces challenges due to low student achievement caused by conventional teaching methods that lack active student engagement. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw method in improving students’ PAI scores using a quantitative quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental group taught using the Jigsaw method and a control group using conventional methods. Data were analyzed using t-tests and n-gain tests to measure significant improvement in scores. The results indicate that the Jigsaw method significantly improves students’ scores on Hajj, Zakat, and Waqf materials, with average n-gain scores in the moderate to high category. This method also enhances student motivation and engagement in learning.
Hani Yuliawanti, Hoerotunnisa, Kiki Miftahul Hakiki, Moch. Ardia Putra, Rahayu Kariadinata

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2459

The Selamatan Bungko tradition in Kumalabaru Hamlet is carried out as a prayer ritual for a newly built house so that it may bring blessings, protection, and comfort to its residents. However, along with the changing times, there have been several modifications in its practice, such as shortening the duration of the burdah recitation and omitting the adhan on one of the house pillars. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation and interview methods, this study reveals that the Selamatan Bungko embodies several values: the value of silaturrahmi, which strengthens social relations; the value of mutual assistance, which reflects the spirit of gotong royong (communal cooperation); and the value of exemplarity derived from the recitation of qasidah burdah. Based on Émile Durkheim’s functionalism theory, this tradition also serves as a means of reinforcing social solidarity and internalizing Islamic values in community life.
Nur Syarifuddin, Aris Ibra Assyauqi

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2609

This study examines the humanistic and moderate-oriented model of classical fiqh learning in the M2KD Program at Pesantren Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Pamekasan. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal four key points: (1) humanistic values emerge through egalitarian, dialogical, and reflective learning; (2) fiqh instruction applies an accelerative, multi-level strategy based on the zone of proximal development; (3) moderation is fostered through discursive methods emphasizing tasamuh, ta‘adul, and tawazun; and (4) M2KD integrates classical text mastery with inclusive character formation. This model balances tradition and contemporary relevance.
Ach. Sayyi, Afandi, Imaniyatul Fithriyah, Masrufah

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2290

This study examines the concept of exemplary educators in Surah Al-Ahzab verse 21 through the interpretations of At-Thobari, Fakhrur Rozi, and Ibn ‘Ashur, focusing on the relevance of the Prophet Muhammad’s model (uswah hasanah) to modern education. Using a library research method and content analysis, the study finds that the three tafsir works offer complementary insights: At-Thobari stresses noble character and professional development, Fakhrur Rozi highlights justice and empathy, and Ibn ‘Ashur emphasizes leadership and moral formation. These findings affirm the Prophet’s example as a practical and holistic guide for value-based Islamic education, both theoretically and in practice.
Annisa Muthiah, Kharis Syuhud Mujahada

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2616

Modernization and technological advancement bring both positive and negative impacts on human life, including spiritual crises and the loss of existential meaning. Sufism, as a spiritual legacy of Islam, offers solutions through the purification of the soul, moral cultivation, and closeness to God. This study employs a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, utilizing literature review and an examination of contemporary phenomena to explore the relevance of Sufi values in addressing the challenges of modernity. The findings indicate that the revitalization of Sufism can serve as a paradigm in Islamic educational praxis. Core values such as tazkiyat al-nafs (self-purification), tawakkal (trust in God), ṣabr (patience), zuhd (asceticism), and universal compassion are highly relevant for application in Islamic education to shape a generation with strong character, tolerance, and divine consciousness. This revitalization responds to the demands of the contemporary era and holds the potential to become a transformative force in building a humanistic and civilized society.
A’imatul Kutbaniyah, Ririn Muktamiroh, Sal Shakhiba Albira Nanda Hanafi, Azizatur Rosyidah

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2541

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Baghdadi method in improving Qur'anic reading skills among students at Pondok Pesantren Roudhotun Nubaha Al-Mukhlisin Mojokerto, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The background of this research lies in the importance of effective Qur'anic teaching methods to develop basic reading and comprehension skills. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The results show that the implementation of the Baghdadi method is conducted gradually—starting with the introduction of Arabic letters (huruf hijaiyah), mastery of articulation (makharijul huruf), vowel marks (harakat), and eventually progressing to reading and memorizing short surahs. Supporting factors include active involvement from teachers and parents, the use of appropriate instructional media, and high student motivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited instructional time, inadequate classroom conditions, and the lack of advanced tajweed instruction.
Ula Lailatul Khoiriyah, Hilyah Ashoumi; Irwan Ahmad Akbar

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2620

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Picture and Picture learning model in improving students’ understanding of Qur’an and Hadith subjects. The study is motivated by the dominance of conventional teaching methods, which often result in suboptimal conceptual comprehension among students. Employing a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design, the research utilized an objective test administered before and after the implementation of the learning model. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test due to non-normal distribution. The findings revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.000), indicating that the Picture and Picture model is effective in enhancing students’ understanding. This model successfully translates abstract concepts in Qur’an and Hadith into more concrete representations, fosters student engagement, and positively influences cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
Rahayu Kariadinata, Habibah Nur Azizah, Dede Arif Rahman, Risma Nurlela, Taufik Agung Nugraha

https://journalfai.unisla.ac.id/index.php/kuttab/article/view/2621

Islamic education in Indonesia possesses distinctive characteristics, particularly reflected in the contributions of two major organizations, Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). This article examines the philosophical differences in educational methods and emphases between Muhammadiyah and NU, as well as their impact on the dynamics of Islamic education in Indonesia. The research employs a literature study with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The analysis reveals that fundamental philosophical differences shape variations in educational orientation, achievements, and dynamics. Muhammadiyah advances a progressive model of education grounded in modern science and technology, emphasizing rationality, innovation, and adaptability to global developments. In contrast, NU sustains a traditional approach through the pesantren system, rooted in the study of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), spiritual values, etiquette, and strong teacher–student relationships. Despite these differences, both organizations complement one another and collectively enrich the landscape of Islamic education in Indonesia.
Hanifatun Jamil, Mega Aulia Suwitno, Utami Qonita Rahmi
