Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilization: Training for Creative Learning Media Development among ECE Teachers in Tanjungpinang

This community service program aimed to enhance the competencies of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers in Tanjungpinang City in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop creative learning media. The program adopted a Service Learning approach consisting of problem identification, planning, training, implementation, and reflection. The assistance program was designed in response to the limited knowledge and skills of ECE teachers in applying AI technologies. It focused not only on strengthening teachers' understanding of fundamental AI concepts but also on developing practical competencies in integrating AI into digital learning media, including illustrated storybooks and educational videos using ChatGPT, Canva, and CODE.org. The program was supported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through the Litapdimas Program and STAIN Sultan Abdurrahman Kepulauan Riau. The results demonstrated significant improvements in teachers' digital competencies, creativity, and professionalism in utilizing AI for teaching and learning. Quantitatively, the program involved 100 ECE teachers and produced 72 AI-based illustrated storybooks and 72 classroom implementation videos as evidence of training outcomes. Program effectiveness was evaluated through pre-test and post-test comparisons and assessments of the learning media produced. The program achieved its success indicators, including a minimum 30% increase in teacher competency, with at least 85% of participants reaching the competent category in AI utilization, 90% successfully developing feasible AI-based learning media, and 80% implementing the media in classroom practice. These findings indicate that the Service Learning-based assistance effectively enhanced AI literacy, technical skills, and teachers' capacity to develop creative and applicable learning media. The program is expected to provide a sustainable foundation for strengthening ECE teachers' digital competencies and contribute to improving the quality of early childhood education in Tanjungpinang City
